Chat room notifications

Availability of this feature depends on the Bria solution you subscribe to.

Available in: Teams.

Not available in: Solo.

Bria can notify you when there is a new message or when you have been mentioned in a chat room. You can change the way you are alerted using a combination of individual chat room notification settings and the following Preferences:

Preferences – Messages

  • Alert Sound can be enabled or disabled.
  • Alert Vibration can be enabled or disabled.
  • Alert Text Tone lets you choose the sound you want to use for incoming messages.

Preferences - Mentions

  • @mention Sound can be enabled or disabled.
  • @mention Text Tone lets you choose the sound you want to use for new mentions.

When you have a new message or mention, you may see the following depending on how you have configured Chat Room Notifications and Preferences:

  • A badge notification on Messaging in the resource panel with Bria in the foreground.

    A badge appears on "Messaging" when there is a new message.

  • A badge notification on Bria with Bria in the background.

    The Badge notification is on the iOS Home screen.

  • The device (except iPad) vibrating in the foreground, background, and on the lock screen.
  • The Alert Text Tone is played in the foreground, background, and on the lock screen.
  • The @mention Text Tone is played in the foreground, background, and on the lock screen.

  • A badge notification on the chat room in Rooms.

    The new essage badge displays on the chat room in the "Rooms" list.

  • A mention badge notification on the chat room in Rooms.

    The new mention displays on the chat room in the "Rooms" list.

Changing chat room notifications

You can change the notifications you receive for each individual chat room. Choose from:

  • All New Messages: Bria notifies you if there is a new message or you have been mentioned in a chat room you are a member of.
  • Mention (@): Bria notifies you if you are mentioned in a chat room you are a member of.
  • Mute Room: Bria does not notify you that there is a new message or that you have been mentioned in a chat room you are a member of.

  1. Go to the Messaging tab on the resource panel.

  2. Tap Rooms and tap on the chat room.

    The new private chat room is in "Rooms" and in "Messaging".

  3. Tap More.

    The "More" button is in the chat room header.

  4. Tap Room Settings.

  5. Tap Notifications.

    "Notificatoions" is in "Room Settings".

  6. To stop receiving any notification for the room, toggle Mute Room on. Otherwise, select either All New Messages or Mentions (@).

    "Mute Room", "All New Messages", and "Mention (@)" are in "Notifications".

  7. Tap Back.

Bria updates your notification preferences for the room.
