Getting started

Users need to create their Bria account on the Bria User Dashboard before logging into Bria. The administrator of your team creates the team and sends you an email invitation to join the team. Use the link in this email to create your Bria account.

  1. Click the link in your team invitation.

    There is a link to the Bria Teams user portal in the email.

    The Bria User Dashboard opens.

  2. The email that your invitation was sent to appears in the email line. If this is the email address you want to use, tap Next. If you want to use a different email, type it here and click tap Next.
  3. Type a password you want to use for your Bria Portal account and tap Next.
  4. Review the service terms for Bria Teams. You must agree to the terms in order to use Bria. Select I agree to allow CounterPath to store and process my personal data and click Accept Terms & Conditions. If you do not agree, close your browser window.
  5. Set your Bria communication preferences and click Start Communicating.
  6. Type your name in your user profile. You can add additional contact details and a photo now or you can log back in to the Bria User Dashboard later to add them.

Your Bria Portal account is ready to use. You can download Bria from the links provided. You can also download the iOS version from the Apple app store and the Android version from Google Play.

Launching Bria

You should have received an email invitation to join Bria. When you accept the invitation, you set a password for Bria. Use the email address and the password you created as your login credentials for Bria.

  1. Tap Bria to launch Bria. The Bria screen appears.
  2. Tap Get Started to go through the initial setup for app permissions.

  3. Enter your login credentials.

Bria opens.

Giving permissions to Bria

Bria asks you to give permissions for the following:

  • Phone for making and managing phone calls.

  • Microphone for capturing and recording audio.

    If you see a dialog asking to give Bria a permission to record a call, answer Yes even if you do not intend to record calls. This dialog is actually asking for permission to access your microphone for making calls, not necessarily for recording. Calls will be recorded if you manually start recording during a call, or if you enable Settings > Preferences > Auto Record Calls.

  • Call heads for returning to an ongoing Bria call after using other apps.

  • Battery for Bria Push Service

  • Bluetooth for connecting to your Bluetooth headsets

  • Contacts

  • Camera for video calls

  • External storage for sending files

Connecting to the service

First, you need an account for SIP and XMPP. See Setting up accounts.

You should be connected as your system administrator has done all the configurations for you. See Account status and network quality on how you know you are connected to the service. Use Bria Push to stay connected while saving battery. More details on Push notifications.

Using biometric authentication

If your device supports fingerprint authentication, you can turn on biometric authentication after the first successful log in. See Using biometric authentication for details.

Exiting Bria

When you log out, Bria stops running and Bria Push will be disabled. When you exit the app, it keeps connected to the servers and Bria Push remains enabled for incoming calls.

  1. In Bria, tap Menu on the top left corner.

  2. Tap Exit or Log Out.

    "Exit" is in the "More" menu in "Settings".
